This quite long hike allows you to explore the entire “Grands Prés” trail that winds through woods and alpine pastures, offering beautiful views of the Geneva basin and the surrounding Brasses, Vouan, and Voirons mountain ranges !
Throughout this 16.7 km hike, you will enjoy exceptional panoramic views with several vantage points overlooking the Massif des Brasses, the Massif des Voirons, Mont Vouan, and even the Geneva basin and Lake Geneva ! You will cross the Môle nature reserve and several mountain pastures to discover the flora and fauna of our meadows !

IGN TOP 25 map 3429ET-Bonneville
The departure point is in the centre of the village of Saint-Jean-de-Tholome.
Follow the D20 tarmac road (Route de Faucigny) towards Faucigny and Bonneville. Opposite the restaurant ‘Chez Moi’, turn left towards ‘Les Maréchaux’ then right towards ‘Chez Dametaz’.
Climb the Voie Communale and pass between the houses to reach the CR known as Tattes Montava.
Continue to the crossroads and follow the path that crosses the hamlets of Les Syords and Les Ruz, following the direction of Col du Réray. At Col du Réray, head towards Vers Château, which you will reach in 20 minutes. There are a series of beautiful panoramic views of the valley.
Go down Impasse de Vers Château, then turn right onto Route du Môle. Continue for 200 metres before turning left onto Route de Larsenex. At the entrance to the hamlet, take the grassy path on the left.
Return to the tarmac road of Le Môle, cross Le Biollay, then take the stony path just after the bend to descend to Gevaux.
Continue downhill, following the signs for La Vernay, Savernaz and Chez les Langes to reach the tarmac road that will take you to Chez Tinjod.
Cross Route de Bonneville, continue along Route de Nancru before reaching the centre of Peillonnex via Chemin de la Fruitière.
Pass in front of the Priory of Peillonnex and cross Route de Bonneville to reach Chemin de Pose Perret.
Turn left onto Chemin du Bois, which will take you to the hamlets of Chez les Philippin and Chez Dubois.
At Chez Dubois, turn left onto the gravel path that climbs through the woods towards the hamlet of Chez Padon. You will be treated to beautiful views of the Voirons and Mont Vouan mountains.
At Chez Padon, turn left onto the stony path that climbs through the woods towards Chez le Vicaire, which you will reach in 15 minutes. Here, the path crosses woods and mountain pastures.
Return to Saint-Jean-de-Tholome at the crossroads before the hamlet of Les Syords.
